Well for my first 'New Thing' for the year I am now more knowledgable about the influence Scotland has had on Canadian Culture. High Commissioner for Canada, James R Wright, spoke very passionately about multiculturalism, something not embraced so easily in Scotland. Dr Lizanne Henderson did her talk through song, which I thought could be a bit cringeworthy but, she had a wonderful voice and was interesting and witty. Her parents were from Paisley but moved to Canada before she was born.
Looking forward to discovering more interesting lectures this year.
That sounds great! I'm looking forward to hearing about all the things you are going to learn : ) I actually think you would both love Nova Scotia, perhaps we can meet on holiday there one year!
